{"id":7296,"date":"2013-12-19T10:59:09","date_gmt":"2013-12-19T15:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ncis.staging.wpengine.com\/?p=5040"},"modified":"2013-12-19T10:59:09","modified_gmt":"2013-12-19T15:59:09","slug":"crop-insurance-in-action-bing-von-bergen-moccasin-montana-2-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iripreviewsite.com\/cropinsuranceinamerica\/crop-insurance-in-action-bing-von-bergen-moccasin-montana-2-2\/","title":{"rendered":"CROP INSURANCE IN ACTION:  Bing Von Bergen, Moccasin, Montana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bing Von Bergen is not only the president of the National Association of Wheat Growers, he\u2019s a third-generation Montana wheat farmer who has seen all kinds of weather over the years. \u201cLast year, parts of the nation had the worst drought since the \u2018Dirty 30s,\u201d he said, recalling the name given the Dust Bowl years.<\/p>\n<p>Von Bergen farms about 4,700 acres near Moccasin, Montana, close to the heart of the state. Growing up in agriculture, he knows hard times can be just around the corner.<\/p>\n<p>But a lot has changed since the Dust Bowl years, including the tools farmers have to manage risk.
